The Clijsters/ Woznijacki match will be tomorrows most exciting womens contest. Anything can happen here, but I hope style and youth prevails in the hot sun at the Rod Laver arena. However, Clijsters saved four matchballs against strong, consistent Na Li from China, and Kim has a little psychological edge against Woznijacki, who has showed some nerves in matches like this previously. However, I consider Woznijacki`s technique and shape to be superior in this top meeting. It will be a close match to the finish.
Who we will miss in the quarterfinals is Ana Ivanovic, who played very strong in the opening rounds, but got run over by Kvitova today..Ana is enthousistic and in great shape, back among the top 16 in Australian Open and the past has shown that French Open is her thing! Let`s hope she strikes back in Paris!
Serena Williams looked tired and nervous as she was beaten today in two sets by Makarova. Sad but true. Serena seems to need a break from tennis to gain back her strength and confidence..
Maria Sharapova looks sharp and effortless in her game and is on a winning streak. If she continues to play with this confidence, she will be a main contender to win the title. Now, that Ana Ivanovic is out, she is the most stylish player on the court, besides Caroline Woznijacki.
